Welcome to the Mauck Lab website!

The Mauck lab is housed in the Department of Entomology at the University of California, Riverside. We study the ecology and evolution of insect-transmitted plant pathogens and their vectors across wild-urban and wild-agriculture interfaces. Our favorite microbes are plant viruses (especially Closteroviridae, Bromoviridae, and Luteoviridae) and finicky bacteria in the genus Candidatus Liberibacter. Our favorite insects are aphids, whiteflies, and psyllids. We also have a strong affinity for plants in the Cucurbitaceae and Solanaceae. Together we are trying to understand how and why microbes become pathogenic, how pathology shapes interactions with vectors, and how we can mitigate pathogen and vector impacts on crops. Check out the tabs on this page to learn more!
