Biography
Pol’s research interests focus on plant-insect-pathogen interactions. Pol has a strong background in molecular biology and biotechnology. She earned her M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Bose Institute in Kolkata, where her research laid the foundation for her career in plant-insect-pathogen interactions.
She has worked extensively in understanding the molecular mechanisms that govern host-pathogen relationships in crops and insect vectors. Her postdoctoral work at the Agricultural Research Organization, Volcani Center in Israel, and the University of Florida focused on identifying the molecular interactions between pathosystems and uncovering the mechanism of disease tolerance in plants.
Currently, Pol continues to pursue her passion to identify strategies to improve crop resistance by effectively understanding the host range of crop pathogens.
